Summer Isles stamps

On the Isle of Tanera, the largest of the Summer Isles you’ll find a unique postal service. Tanera Mor is the only offshore Scottish island to offer a private postal service. As a result it is licensed to produce its own stamps.

3 times per week the MV Patricia comes over from Tanera to transfer post to the main postal system in Achiltibuie.

You can visit the post office on Tanera when you travel over on one of the Summer Isles cruises & collectors can buy some of the stamps. Some of the early ones from the ’70’s are extremely rare and sought after by collectors.
