Getting to Achiltibuie

Google map here.

To get to Achiltibuie from Ullapool take the A835 North towards Morefield and Ardmair.

Continue along this road until you reach the Drumrunie junction where there is a signpost to Achiltibuie on your left.

From here you are on a single track road with passing spaces and magnificent scenery alongside the gorse bushes, past the lochs and below Stac Pollaidh. The road is only about 15 miles long but please drive with care.

The road joins a T-junction at Achnahaird beach (great views). Turn left and follow the signs again to Achiltbibuie.

When you come in to Achiltibuie continue straight along this road. You will pass Achiltibuie Stores on your left, then the post office and the Summer Isles hotel. Shortly after the Summer Isles hotel you will see a large new house built on the hill on your left. Directly opposite it is a steep track down to your right (towards the sea). The turn is very sharp and if the car is loaded we often go on a little further and turn round to approach the track from the other direction.

Cross the cattle grid and continue down this track. Greenhill is directly in front of you through the wooden gate (make sure you keep shut to keep the sheep out of the garden).

If you get to the road sign for Polglass you have gone too far.
