For the next 2 weeks the Highland Council is co-ordinating the Highland Archaeology festival – a series of events celebrating the diverse cultural heritage of the Highlands.
You can download the full PDF and programme of events here (19 page document). Running alongside the festival there are also a series of events being co-ordinated by the Ullapool Museum including:
Weds 8th October – from 11-4 local archaeologist Cathy Dagg will be on site at the museum to identify and catalogue any archaeological finds from crofts in the area.
Thursday 21st October – following the AGM Cathy will be giving a talk on how to identify some of the ‘Lumps & Bumps’ on the landscape.
There are several new displays at the museum and a wide series of field walks planned – some of which require pre-booking (all details on the Highland Council site).
